Harry Wilson, Managing Director, is a key member of the Financial Services & Insurance Practice. Specializing in consumer and commercial banking and wealth management, Harry splits his time between his two offices in Charlotte, NC and Chicago, IL.
Cultivated from more than 33 years of experience within the financial services and executive search industries, Harry has deep technical expertise and an acute ability to assess talent across a broad range of diversified financial services sectors, including retail and commercial banking, consumer finance and credit card services, payment systems, mortgage banking and wealth management.
Having served both as an internal recruiter within major financial services organizations as well as an external executive search consultant advising multinational clients, Harry has developed a unique perspective on executive search. He understands the challenges hiring managers face and executes a search strategy that resonates with those pulse points, successfully delivering high-potential candidates with the ability to make an impact in their new roles.
His portfolio of search work over the years spans senior front office and functional roles, including C-level assignments and general management, with a particular emphasis in accounting, audit, risk management, operations and information technology.
Prior to joining Cook Associates, Harry served as the Director of Executive Recruiting at Freddie Mac where he was a key member of the internal team responsible for creating and implementing growth initiatives based on targeted recruitment strategies. Prior to Freddie Mac, Harry served as Senior Vice President, Managing Director Executive Recruiting with Wachovia/First Union now Wells Fargo and as Vice President, Executive Director Internal Recruiting for MNC Financial.
Before joining MNC Financial, Harry spent five years as a search consultant with two boutique financial services search firms. Earlier, he served as a Director of Finance with Maryland Casualty Company. Harry began his career with Ernst & Young where he ultimately progressed to Senior Manager within their Audit practice.
Harry holds a BS in business administration and accounting from the University of Baltimore.
