Eric Gustafson is an Executive Vice President with Cook Associates, Inc., and serves as Managing Director within the firm’s Executive Search division. A member of the Consumer & Retail, Industrial and Technology practices, he has nearly twenty years of retained senior management search experience including as Senior Partner and practice leader in the New York City and Stamford, Connecticut offices of Korn/Ferry International.

Co-located in the New York and Stamford offices of Cook Associates, Inc., Eric specializes in P&L general management and diverse functional leadership recruitment for leading brand name clients including U.S., European, and Japanese multinational corporations.

Prior to entering the executive search industry in 1988, Eric acquired a private business-to-business technology company and served as its President and Board Director. He began his career with Ashland, Inc., a Fortune 500 diversified industrial organization. There, he held corporate roles in human resources focusing on executive staffing and compensation & benefits. He later held a sales and marketing position in the company’s Valvoline brand consumer division.

Eric holds a degree in Economics (1981) with concentrations in accounting and sociology from Lafayette College, Easton, PA where he also played Division I basketball. He is a member of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce of New York. Eric lives with his wife and two daughters in Wilton, Connecticut.
