Seth Harris is an Executive
Vice President with Cook Associates, Inc. He is responsible for the
day-to-day operations of the Boston office, and has oversight of the
Technology & Communications practice within the firm’s Executive Search division.
Seth conducts searches for global clients across multiple industries
such as software, storage, and telecommunications including the wireline
and wireless sectors. His practice also reflects senior executive assignments
within portfolio companies of prominent venture capital firms and multi-national
organizations.
Having completed over 200
senior assignments ranging from CxO to functional vice president roles,
Seth brings significant perspective and understanding to the venture
and public company boards with which he works. He partners with hiring
managers and board members to effectively navigate through disparate
opinions regarding candidate quality, fit and overall success. His experience
enables him to understand his clients’ need for urgency and frequent
communication to maintain focus on a positive result.
Prior to joining Cook Associates,
Inc., Seth served as Managing Director of DHR International where he
launched the firm’s Boston office. He also functioned as the Global
Practice Leader, Advanced Technology where he led the team in developing
internal processes and infrastructure to support operations, business
development and marketing initiatives. He earned DHR’s Award for
Excellence in 2004 for his contributions to the organization, and was
named “Practice Leader of the Year” in 2005.
Seth began his career in executive
search as a Partner and founding member of Christian & Timbers’
Boston office. Over the course of ten years with the firm, Seth was
consistently ranked a top performer related to search quality, and client
satisfaction. He established and grew the software and data networking
practice nationally, defining Christian & Timbers’ position
as a leading brand for technology assignments.
His professional career started
at IBM Corporation as a sales representative and he ultimately progressed
to management roles in sales and marketing. Seth was recognized for
his achievements by receiving numerous Area and Regional Director awards,
and he was the recipient of the company’s prestigious Leadership
award. He was also named the Northern New England Sales Representative
of the Year, and nominated as one of five Sales Directors in IBM’s
Annual 100% Club.
Seth earned his MBA from Boston University
and a BS in Management from Keene State College. He enjoys spending
time with his wife Kathy and their two daughters, playing guitar, skiing,
and relaxing on Lake George, NY. Email
